OnePlus - Software/Security Updates

Hi All,
My Nexus 6P fell foul to the boot-loop defect on Sunday, so with the OP5 around the corner, I have have my trusty old Nexus 5 back in action hoping to get me through a few more days before it's release.

As a long time Nexus owner, what I'd like to know, is how OnePlus are with software updates and security patches. Do they update OS versions fairly quickly, dog slow, not at all? Do they release security patches at all?

This is not a deal breaker, but having got used to these benefits, I'd like to prepare myself to lose them rather than take the hard blow when they don't happen!

OnePlus is pretty slow to get a new OS level out, but they do very frequent updates to their own Oxygen OS that typically includes the latest security update at the time. They're rarely more than 2-3 months behind, but they do not participate in guaranteed monthly security updates.

No guaranteed updates from OnePlus. We'll have to see how it goes after the OnePlus 5 comes out.

Coming from a Nexus 6 which received monthly updates, so far its been quite ok.
