OneUI 5 battery life

Hi,
I recently got updated to Android 12 on my S20 5G and I have noticed that the battery life has deteriorated fairly substantially.

Anyone else??

Try clearing cache in recovery

I always do before updating and immediately after updating.
And I have done it an extra couple of times since.


I also actually think the battery performance is getting progressively worse since the update.

It's still able to achieve 6h sot but it's barely making it through a working day.

It's losing 7 - 8% overnight just sitting on the bedside locker.

It's not bad for 2 year old device but maybe factory reset to see if it can improve?

But it was performing much better before the update......I would expect the first update will be to fix this issue......there seems to quite a bit of it on the WWW

An update.....

I got rid of the secure folder and things seem to have improved.......still not at the level it was at....but it has improved.

I think samsung do this with every version of any phone.
By the way, when i make the phone 5g without power saving,
The battery gets drained fast.

I don't have a 5G account and I have 5G switched off in the network settings.

I do use power saving.

My battery isn't the greatest on the 20fe anymore, since upgrading to 12, even though it's healthy. BUT, I have outlook, gmail, social media apps, MS Teams, etc. all pushing notifications so I expect it to take a hit. Plus I have 5G turned on, high refresh rate, etc. All adds up when you think about it.

So just for some context......

I had planned to change to an S23 but last week I got offered a good deal on an Asus Zenfone 10 16gb/512gb

The battery is phenomenal....


today I have managed 6 hours of screen time and the battery is only down to 50%
