OneUI 8.5 beta is here

I regret installing the One UI beta 85. Don't install 8.5 if if you use and value Samsung messages. I updated to the Beta software and it has a permanent message saying Samsung messages still be disabled!

It was a good run, seriously speaking. RCS is way better for overall messages and Google's integration, including receiving photos and videos without compression, and especially cross-platform. Samsung Messages relied more on carriers and were inconsistent for those things. I know many won't care or notice, but it's definitely improved.

So I made this update about a week ago.. maybe 10 days. The UI is a tiny bit jerky, especially the pull down notifications screen..

but here is the REAL crazy change and I don’t know what is going on.. BATTERY LIFE has gone THROUGH THE ROOF..

This is not my daily driver, but it’s on all the time, connected to wifi, and cellular (poor cellular)..it sits on my desk and I do a few calls, some google NOW, some trading apps, some email, but not much. I can go 1-2 days with zero touch.

That said the battery stat would normally say “normally last 4 days and 4 hours”.. now, I’ve gone FOUR DAYS AND 19 HOURS, and it still is showing 43%.. WTH!

I haven’t changed any settings directly, same screen resolution, now the highest but one below (but that is the same as it ever was) no changes to “performance” settings, or battery or background actions.

Anyone else notice this? Do you know what settings might have been changed to a default that would increase battery life THIS much?
