Android Central Question

Hello,

For a few weeks now, I've been getting a pop up on my phone that says, "ooops!" No one seems to have an answer for this and it's frustrating. Has anyone ever heard of this? I have an anti virus in my phone and it's not detecting anything. Any answers?
Thanks!
C

Welcome to Android Central! It can vary with the phone -- which one do you have? On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

Here's a screenshot of what's happening
First while nothing is impossible anti virus on Android is a waste. Waste of resources, battery and the user's time. To lower your chances of having phone issues become aware of what you install. Apps with too many permissions, i.e. Contacts, email, location, system settings to name a few. Which brings us to your issue. Since Android occasionally uses pop ups to give the user warning messages such as low memory, connection issues and system warnings, they always include a bit of information about the issue which sometimes includes a code. They're designed to inform and help the user, unlike your issue. You haven't mentioned the notification that appears with message. Does something in your notification bar coincide with this message, an icon, a message of some kind? Not to pick on anti virus apps but they often create pop ups to pray on people's nature then offer solutions that involve getting users to install more apps. Other apps will do this also to get users to install apps from ads which generate revenue for the dev. Think back to when the messages started and consider any apps that you might have installed around that time. Check the 1 and 2 star reviews for those apps and see if other users complained about pop ups. You were asked to reveal the phone model you have because not all Android is created equally. This could be an app error message where it wants to send you a notification or an ad but your phone model isn't compatible with this code and it simply displays this message after a failed attempt. You can easily see your last installed apps and the order in which they were installed by going into your app drawer and sorting, upper left corner, by most recent. That's where if start. Checking ratings, anything under 3.5 stars or with as many or more 1 star ratings as 5 start is automatically suspect, then read five or six 1 star reviews for your most recent apps because low ratings are real, 5 star ratings are suspect and can be fake to get the app rating up, and often people will say they removed or didn't like an app based on pop ups or ads. Both should be red flags in your case.

Thanks, Vid Junky!

I never download an app unless it has more than 4.5 stars and u look at reviews.

Also, take a look at my screenshot I posted and look at the little icon next to the battery icon. That is always there. The others come and go depending on what commands are on phone.

Any other suggestions? Thanks so much!!

I had the same problem since months or so and today I finally found out the solution , I kept on deleting apps one after the other but it kept coming up , until I deleted two apps
1- trutext
2- 2ndline
And that is when it stopped , and that's all I know , hope that helps .

Let me just explain, what perhaps the questioners in this thread do not seem to understand, either by present knowledge or a little search of the subject, that Safe Mode disables third-party apps diagnostically, so that you can tell whether a problem is being caused by such an app. No doubt @Mohammed Mohammed6 would have found that if tried.
No-one here, including the OP, has responded to my Safe Mode suggestion, nor to the reiteration of it by @B. Diddy, so without feedback about that - the very first suggestion made in this thread - we cannot proceed further.

I think this problem is happening because of the Cambly app. Of course it's just a problem with phones that use android oreo
