Opening a .doc.dot Document

Got a new Car Insurance Card emailed to my phone ending (.doc.dot) & the popup "no app to open it".
1st Google says dnload Adobe Reader.
Some apps behave better than others.
If it's not the Only solution Is Reader an OK choice or is something else better??

I don't believe there is such format as ".doc.dot". *.doc is the older not as secure Microsoft Word document format. "*.dot" is the older Microsoft Word template format. But from my many years of using MS Word double file extensions don't exist for Word.
Try changing the document's name to remove the ".dot" leaving only the ".doc" as the file name extension and see if it opens.
Or have your insurance company send you a new document properly formatted.

Thanks for the Reply. I name-chg'd to .doc and the Result ADDED .dot each time.
Maybe someone will see this that knows about Word docs in Android AND WHAT would Open them -- but I think I'll do the Reader Dnload IF Hartford cannot send a PDF.
