Opening iPhone photos

I have an iPhone and I back up my photos to Google Photos so I thought I'd be able to open them on my Acer Chromebook C731, but these photos download strangely, as a Photos.zip file. When I click it open, I get two files:
1. a .mov file
2. a .heic file

I can't open either of these.... Do you know what's going on? I can see them fine in Google Photos on my Chromebook.

It's just one photo. I found out that iPhones take photos in a new Apple format. I found a website that converts them, but I want ALL of my photos converted...
