Operation Failed error message when transfering files to SD card.

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to Android 9.0 and everytime I try to move files (music, documents, videos) from the Downloads folder of the phone storage to my SD card, it shows "Failed Operation" error message. My memory card worked fine and encountered no problem at all before the update and it has sufficient storage to store the files I want to transfer. I am unable to delete files from the SD card storage but I am able to create folders. Temporarily fixed the problem when I unmounted my SD card and put it back on but the same problem occured again after a few hours (rather tedious to unmount and mount the card over and over just to transfer a file). The computer can read my SD card fine and has no issues at all. Anyone can help?

Your carrier, to reflash the update? It shouldn't be working that way.
