opinions after a year?

I've had mine for 16 months and it has been excellent. I will be hard-pressed to give it up for a new flagship with something like an SD 820 in it, because there are so many things done right with the G3.

I've had mine for just over a year now, T Mobile D851. It's been rooted, my only regrets are I didn't really need to root it, and it made updates a nightmare and I can't run hbo now with it rooted. But that's all about me rooting it - not about the phone, which is itself flawless.

The reason I rooted was I wanted to try to fix the screen appearance. However it turned out that you don't need root for that - I followed the instructions on fixing the screen contrast, and the phone was incredible after that.

I got in on the spare battery from LG, with the battery charger, which was all great. Super convenient when I had to fly. I have a 64GB card in it, so I haven't needed space. I have a bunch of vudu movies on there, for when I travel. Poweramp pro works great.

I can't really think of anything else. I have friends who got the iphone 6+ and I have no regrets, they all thought my lg was better.

I won't upgrade probably for another year - I don't see anything that is a big enough improvement to move away from this phone.

I'd like to unroot it, but I don't want to lose all my data. So rooting my phone was my 1 and only regret. Otherwise TWO BIG THUMBS UP.

EDIT: So I thought about this, looked online, downloaded the SuperSU from google play, and it worked like a charm. Unrooted! Even HBO Now works.

Glad you got that resolved. I was about to comment letting you know you can unroot. ;)

Oh, nothing from 2015 really has me interested in replacing the G3. Everything is SD808/SD810 which seems too marginal of a step up, and if you go Exynos with Samsung you're stuck with Knox and a locked down phone with no storage expansion. Waiting for 2016 phones is the best choice, really. I'll likely have a new one in 6-8 months.

That happens to me too, apps always crashing literally every two minutes. did the factory reset work? im considering doing that... ive had the phone for about a year, the hardware and battery and everything is perfect; best phone ive ever had, but the software a week or so ago just went to crap... so slow all the time, and apps crash all the time. did the reset work?

A factory reset is always worth trying.

ive had mine for almost a year, until i broke the screen and repaired it,all was well.now its a lilttle balky at times.not the phones fault but mine.looking to buy a new one with my tax refund

Almost a year in. My user experience has been very smooth. I bought the DT2 recently, and while I like the battery, the experienced isn't as smooth. I'm considering selling my new phone and going back to G3.

Just over a year here. Still very happy. Wish battery life was better but it's powering a big screen.

I haven't seen a phone that has made me want to change away yet.

Bought mine early days. Rooted and removed everything I could. Still on v10a.was averaging 4-4.5 hrs screen time but as battery aged that dropped to about 3.5hrs.recently put a 22 quid 6000ah battery from Amazon with an extended cover. Phone is averaging an hour screen on time for every10-12 percent. Seeing 7 hrs screen on time easily. The bigger cover actually makes it easier to use. Was thinking about a meizu pro5 but with the new and much improved battery life I'll stick with the g3. Does all I need to do.

Think I've just ordered the same battery and cover. Any downsides?

None so far. The back cover is a bit cheaper feeling but fits well, battery is a good snug fit. Don't know if it helped but I slow charged it the first time overnight. As I write this I'm at 66 percent with 3.5 hrs screen on time and 20 hrs usage. Video and surfing, no gaming.

Quick update on the 6000ah battery. Plugged in this morning at 27% with 50 hours usage and 6 1/2 hrs screen on time.

Got a g3 UK version , battery life is good , take it off charge at 2am and can still have a good charge at the end of the day , back cover creaks a little when pressed under the volume down button , it has a crack on the bottom from the mic hole to the front , a crack on the top from IR blaster to the front , common fault if googled , never been dropped tho , screen dims slightly after a few seconds of waking the phone , its never let me down tho .

To many little annoyances. Im over it. I thought it was gonna be THE phone... But i guess thats how we all feel at first with new devices.
