Opinions of the Rezound

If you have had 5 Rezound with the same problem, you are probably better off asking to switch to another phone. I was able to get the droid Razr Maxx as a warranty replacement for my rezound, of course, ymmv.

I tried. They all keep saying that they can't do it. The last guy said that it wasn't a big issue.

What was your problem?

Losing data all the time. I live in a 4g area, but would always lose data. And on this phone it was the same even after the update and the screen would mess up.

Talk to tech support. Not just a customer care person. And be nice about it. Sorry it isn't working for you. I had a bolt. Same issues as well as internet issues. They gave me the rezound and its perfect for me!

I had the same data issues before the update but most of it was cured with ICS. But it seems you have tried that! lol If i were you I would call Verizon (or Asurion if your phone is a replacement) and demand something different. Be nice and courteous but be sure to get your point across, its a $300 device and it should not be having this many issues. When they try to shut you up with some crap phone that is not worth it, be sure to tell them you want a device with the same specs and features that the Rezound had (that automatically gets rid of the Razr and any other low end phone they would try to give you). I have heard in a few forums that Verizon and Asurion was sending out a few Samsung Galaxy S3 's to customers who were experiencing extensive problems. If they don't listen, be sure to call back again and again until someone does!
Best of luck :)

See if you can find someone with a maxx, try to see if it has better signal. If it does, call in and explain that your friend has a RazrMaxx and doesn't have signal drops whereas you have had the same issue on all 5 of your rezound, so you know that it is not necessarily a network issue since your friends maxx works fine. You will have to ne persistent, even when they say no, keep explaining. You may not get the maxx, but you should be able to get another phone after 5 rezound with the same issue. Also explain that you are willing to take another rezound, but that you don't want to waste Verizon's money keep sending in rezound.

I did talk to tech support. They are the ones that sent me to the store this last time.

after the update it became a lot better. But still having issues. Just no where near as much.

Oh I've had a few friends with 4g not have any problems. The only other person that has had a problem is a fellow rezound owner.

The only thing that really sucks about this Rez is battery life. OP: buy the extended battery.

I switched back to the stock battery after the recent OTA. Each day, the battery was nearly dead in early evening. Popped in my extended battery - always have juice for a day and a half.

Then harp on this. Say my friend who has a gs3,maxx,or whatever phone it is that doesn't have a problem. I would advise you not mention friends having lesser phones, as they may offer you one.

The Rezound rocks. There is nothing out there that I would want otherwise

Since I have had both phones, the sgs and the rezound, I would stick with the rezound. I am actually gonna get rid of the sgs if I can find a sucker.... . Er... Umm.... Buyer

Piizza how much are you wanting for the SG3 :)

Rezound is a great phone. Big screen but not too big to make it difficult to handle. A bit lighter than the Thunderbolt. I went from Blackberry Storm, to Thunderbolt, to Rezound, and now a week ago to GS3. I would still have my Rezound except I fell in love with the looks of the GS3. You can't go wrong with either the Rezound or the GS3.

The only thing I don't like about my SG3 is the size - it is physically a little too large for me. When I held the Rezound the first thing I noticed about it was the weight - it's little heavy (6.0 oz) compared to most other phones (I had a Dinc2 - which I liked a lot) and now have a GS3. I have not had any problems with any of the usual Samsung minuses - GPS, signal issues, etc. Didn't think much of the Touchwiz launcher so I immediately put Apex on it (love it - even paid for the Apex Pro upgrade because I while I love free I believe in supporting developers) and it runs great. I think it is the most future proof phone with the S4, HD screen and 2 GB Ram. Also, it has the best battery life with the stock battery of any phone I've owned (and probably any high end phone outside of the Razr Maxx). I'm not much for rooting (so far) and while Samsung doesn't have the best rep for upgrading I believe they want to keep momentum and stay ahead of the iPhone 5 so they will release Jelly Bean as quickly as they can (carriers notwithstanding not sure how quickly each carrier will release it). The phone is thin, light, feels great in the hand and for me (personally) if it had been a 4.3-4.5" device would be perfect - I'm living with the larger size.

depends on how you define large. The gs3 is a little longer and wider but substantially thinner. the rezound is larger by volume, taking into account the exterior dimensions of both devices.

You must not be meant to have a Rezound. Sorry to hear you have had all these problems. :'(

What exactly are your problems and are they contained to one particular area? Reason I am asking is suddenly my Thunderbolt started acting up and only in my home area. Internet hanging and freezing, not keeping a charge as well as waking up to it not being charged completely AFTER being given a new charger cause one had was defective. I did two factory resets on the refurb I received and contemplated a new SIM card. I have always made the issues known to Verizon to have on record in case something more happened. I only had two replacements and they offered me the Rezound....actually, I have had it for a week
now..........and I love it. It has been FLAWLESS for me.
Have you had tech support at any time troubleshoot the phone with you? Have you tried to solve the problems, cause you haven't said what they are. Have you done factory reset, maybe its an app that really isn't good for your phone..........there are apps that aren't good to be using.........If you haven't done these things, I suggest giving it a try. But Verizon should be offering you a different replacement. They told me if the problem still persists on the Rezound I was to call and they would have a tech come out to Cave Creek and check out the towers.

It was meant for the poster Skatergirl replied to...........hope you all realize this.
my bad, sorry

I am up for a new phone and am torn between waiting for the supposed Quad core monster HTC is supposed to be releasing to Verizon, getting the SIII or a Rezound.

How is the phone? I have an Incredible now and it is awesome but I need a new toy.

I love the Rezound -- picked it up 5 months ago after 2 years with my Incredible... that said,
I will be on HTC's 5" quad-core 1080 beast like a fat kid on cake!

I picked up a Rezound yesterday. I played with the GSIII for about an hour and found Touch Wiz clunky. So far I love it. Got the ICS upgrade on the ride home. As soon as the second one gets to me I will root it but I booted it at 6:30 this am and have at least 80% battery life left. Not too shabby.

Are you in a 4G area? Are you hardly using your phone?

Using only 20% of the battery in a full workday seems unusual.

lol... kinda depends on your definition of "work day", according to my boss, if I am using my personal phone for anything it is not work, so if I just put it in my pocket in the morning and don't touch it until after work, using 20% battery would normal or even a little high
