So, now that we know all, have you ordered a Pixel phone? The thing that get me really excited about this phone is the camera, and I think I would enjoy a slightly more compact device (I may even opt for the 5 inch device, depending on battery life). Disappointed about the single speaker.

What do you guys think?

Pretty sure the OP owns the nexus 6 currently and was thinking of switching.

Yeah, the point was "hey nexus 6 owners, what do you think about the pixel phone? It may be time to upgrade soon, are you interested, etc.."

I suspect this question is more relevant for nexus owners than for people who buy Samsung phones or LG phones.

Too small. Only a mono speaker. Huge honkin bezels for seemingly no reason. No OIS. Too much money. Oh, but it has a headphone jack!
No thanks, I will keep my N6 for the time being. Maybe check out the Honor 9 or Mate 9 later. I has to have me a phablet.

If and when my Nexus 6 dies I'll get back to ya, but it seems pretty sweet for an iClone.

I do believe that I will be getting a Pixel XL and keeping my Nexus 6 for a backup or maybe just give it to one of my kids.

But I am going to wait a couple of months just to get some more feedback on the phone and make my final decision.

Still keeping my Nexus 6 for its big screen and resolution :)
More pixels available on it than Pixel , and cheaper pixels than Pixel XL :P

I will get one eventually, but I want to wait and see how Android 7 behaves on my Nexus first. also, I'd like to see some real world use before I put down so much money.

Not me. For that price point there are too many factors I feel are wrong.

No SD Card, VRZ exclusivity, Not waterproof, to name a few. And some other minor stuff like gorilla glass 4 vs 5. I think google won't be happy with the success of this phone based on their strategy releasing the phone. I can see another galaxy nexus fiasco.

For purposes of this response, I'm assuming you're using a N6 now, so are considering factors you feel should be added, but also are those that you do not currently enjoy.

It has no SD card, but an acceptable (for the phone industry) price to upgrade to 128GB, which should be ample on-device storage for the vast majority of users, especially with the option to back up all photos/videos in full resolution to cloud at no storage expense.

By VRZ, assuming you mean Verizon... it's not exclusive to them. It's true you can only currently buy it from a physical storefront (at least in the US) from Best Buy or Verizon with Verizon activation (though even if I were a Verizon customer I'd buy it from the Play Store so that Google managed the OS updates rather than waiting on Verizon to allow them to be patched on).

I agree that, at its price-point, some true water resistance should be provided. Never had an issue with my N6 or prior devices in that respect, but it's getting to the $$ territory wherein it's nearly a standard attribute just for peace-of-mind.

We can put out a laundry list of things it should have had, and different people will put different weight to what they want. I'd have liked GG5 as well for better drop resistance, but historically that would rarely if ever benefit me (broke a screen from a drop one time in the past.... 10 years?). Call me crazy, but I'd love to have in IR blaster...

From my perspective, this is the first time I find myself seriously looking additionally to phones outside the traditional Nexus group for my next upgrade. Not to say I don't anticipate the Pixel XL to be highly ranked among the ones I consider, but the S7e and V20 both look to be exceptional as well, with each of the 3 having exclusive things on my gottahaveit list.

Or, maybe I'll just give it a month and then pick up a gently used N6p for a steal.

Yeah, basically this too. I love my Nexus 6 but due to basic texting issues AT&T sent me a Note 5 which I to love . However I've missed the extra size of the 6 ,while I love the Note 5 going down to 5.5 is not something I would like. I've dusted of the 6 and it now has updated to N7 .

I will look at the Mate 9 too or the Note 7

My N6 is the best phone I've ever owned, and now I consider Qi (wireless) charging and IP67/68 water resistance to be basic features that I require for all future phones.

The Pixel doesn't have those things?!?!

The only think my N6 is missing is the greatness of the fingerprint unlock, which my wife's 5X has (but is missing Qi and IP67).

Too much bezel, too much cost.

Since phones went "full cost", I'm OK with buying used phones going forward. Don't always need the latest and greatest, when last year's phone is almost as good, and sometimes better when you get a well-built device.

I got the Nexus 6 the first day it was available from Verizon. My 2 year contract doesn't end until March so no new phone for me.

If the nougat update sorts the laggy (sometimes unusable) camera issue on my N6 then I'll probably stick with it as a part from this bug bear the phone has been quality.

If not, I may jump to the 6p but struggling to justify the increased spend for a pixel Xl.

I'm truly disappointed with this phone. For one, even the larger version is much much shorter than my Nexus 6 (whose size I personally love). Like many other people said, the massive bezels on such a small device somewhat ruin the aesthetics for me. Only one speaker is a minute disappointment.
I would love it for the camera since I am an amateur photo geek but I just cannot see myself spending that much money for a phone that to me, has more cons than pros.

Hmmm...

Stupidly expensive! :-\
Too small, for me it had to be 5.7-6" minimum
Really not that much of an upgrade over the N6 to warrant it's stupid price
iPhone rip-off build and not a good one at that
Too small and stupidly expensive... Did I already say that?!

I've an 32GB N6 running Nougat faultlessly; still blisteringly fast and an 64GB iPhone 6S Plus; best of both worlds IMO. Quite happy staying put...
