Optical Tracball scrolling down all the time

My wife's Incredible is scrolling down all the time in email and internet etc. I know it's the trackball if I roll up it will stop for a while. Is there anyway to fix this or do I need a replacement phone?

try cleaning it with an alcohol swab. Mine acts up from time to time and cleaning it has always solved the problem. If it doesn't, you might look for a replacement. Good luck!

Had that problem with my phone at launch, everyday it would scroll by itself, multiple times. Once i got my replacement phone it never happened again. The replacement phone came middle of July and not once have I had any trackpad issues since then.
