Sprint is rolling out 4G in the cleveland area quite well. Though no idea when it will be official.
But I've noticed something thats changed but only in the past few days.
In my apartment, I used to get a maximum 3G speed of 1mbps down and about 900kbps up. Not bad, but I've heard others get higher. Their is a sprint tower only 1000ft away from my apartment building, I get a solid 6 bars signal at all times. Now, throughout the entire cleveland area, I have done many speed tests on 3G. about 1mbps was the highest I ever seen for the download. 1079kbps to be exact was my old high point on 3G. Not the fastest 3G speeds I've heard about but its fast enough and I will give sprint credit, because those speeds are pretty darn consistent throughout the area. Even with a low signal I managed around 700kbps download speeds.
However the other day I noticed that web browsing felt a bit faster on my phone in my house. Decided to do a speed test. Got a solid 1.7mbps on 3G!!! I was surprised and tried several more tests over a few days. It's no fluke apparently as I get that consistently now.
4G is *technicly* available in my house but i'm at the outer edge of the towers transmission apparently. I only get 4G in a few spots in my house but it never holds the connection for long. Hopefully this will change when they build more towers going down I-80 (which I live next to). But this increase in 3G speed is a decent consolation.
Has anyone experienced this? Has your 3G speeds improved lately? i'm curious if they are tweaking all their 3G areas for better speed or if this is just a thing in my local area.
