Optimum WiFi not automatically connecting

Since I've had the S3, whenever I'm in an Optimum Wifi area, the login/connection prompt comes up and I get the Wifi symbol with the question mark in it in the notification area... but whenever I put my account info in and try to click Connect Automatically (or whatever the the green button is) so that whenever I'm in a Optimum area it remembers my device and connects via Optimum Wifi automatically without me having to log in each time. But when I enter my info, then press the button, nothing happens...... and I'm not sure I'm connected or logged in. Apparently I'm not if it keeps coming up. Is there a fix for this? Does anyone else have this problem in the NY area (using Optimum)? The Wifi sux but when it does work, sometimes it better than the 3G connections when it's low. Anyone have any info?

What is optimum Wi-Fi?

I just looked it up but I have no information regarding this network.

About Optimum WiFi

Optimum WiFi is the nation's largest, most advanced Wi-Fi network*.

Optimum WiFi is a collection of thousands of Internet access points in public locations that allow you to connect to the Internet at super fast speeds -- just as easily as you can connect with your wireless router at home.

Optimum WiFi hotspots are available in shopping centers, restaurants, cafes, train platforms, parks, marinas, malls, sports fields and more -- the places you go every day. To find an Optimum WiFi hot spot near you, visit Optimum Online - WiFi - Find Location. New Optimum WiFi locations are being added frequently, so check back often.

Optimum WiFi is not intended to be available from within your home. For wireless Internet access at home, you can purchase a wireless router from an electronics retailer and connect it to your Optimum Online modem. Click here for more information about home networking.

Requirements for Accessing Optimum WiFi
To use Optimum WiFi all you need is:

A Wi-Fi enabled device.
A current subscription to Optimum Online.
An Optimum ID and password.
To be within range of an Optimum WiFi hotspot.

I will try it later if I remember and let you know. I have it but where I live I have LTE so I use that instead.

I did use it once and it seemed to work ok.

You can also log into your Optimum account and add the phone if you are home and on your cablemodem connection via Wifi. Then you don't have to deal with login in from the phone.

I think you get 5 devices.

Optimum online is Cablevision's Wifi hotspot network. Cablevision is out of Long Island, NY and covers parts of NJ, CT, NY and I think Mass.

They have a partnership with Comcast and TimeWarner for reciprocal sharing in these areas as well.

I used it a bit more on my Fascinate as Verizon's 3G network sucks.

I have optimum wifi and the best way to get it to work is to go to the website on your desktop computer, log in, and click on the optimum wifi link on the left side. From there you can add your Mac address for your device. After that you will not be asked to put in your credentials at a wifi hot spot.
