Optimus Elite problem with multi-AP WiFi w/ WPA

My LG Optimus Elite resets on Multi-AP networks where there are multiple routers with the same SSID. I've had this problem where I used to work and at my college campus. It would happen when I moved from one part of the building to another with WiFi connected, but later would just happen unpredictably when using data. I used to think it couldn't handle WPA security, but I use that at home now and it doesn't have that problem. Is this a known issue?

It happens to me where i work also. large warehouse building, many wireless routers, same SSID, open security. (no WPA)
Its unfortunate, because i love listening to internet radio, and it just stops randomly, so i have to stop working to reset my wifi.
