Well, just as I was trying to get the Hydro to show its update, the F7 began a big upgrade. But, like the Hydro, no change in Android version number. :-(

Your f7 upgraded firmware? Is it still 4.1.2? I'm not sure I want it to upgrade if it's just going to stay jellybean 4.1! I have mine rooted and customized with xposed framework and xposed modules and I have a feeling that they are going to make this already difficult to hack phone even more secure

Yes, the version didn't change, and I don't notice any differences really. I don't know what they updated. :-/

I'm getting frustrated. The reason everyone picks android over pathetic iPhone is because they are so much more customizable and almost personal computer like but with every api update they are making the fun things about android more and more difficult. I had a galaxy epic 4g touch before this lg. I broke the galaxy and insurance gave me the f7. I felt like wow I think they made a big mistake because I really made out on this deal. But this phone has shown nothing but dead end after dead end when it comes to custom ROMs. You would think at least they would give us an ota update to 4.4 or at the very LEAST 4.3.

oddly enough I got sick of the lg pissin us around so I went back to Samsung and got the galaxy s5 kitkat 4.4.2.. it's a great phone. I liked the lg f7 but they were going to keep us on dual core jellybean forever. this s5 was the best decision I've made even though I am not a huge Samsung fan, this version is bad ***

the update in june was to firmware ver5. it was not to the android os. it was a fix for a horrible gps battery drain bug and some security stuff. i did the update the waited a month for some new tweaks. i ended up rooting and cwm-ing. due to a none unlockable boot loader, makes the phone pretty un-****-with-able. soooo i installed exposed framework and gravity box for 4.1 and spent a weekend completely customizing my lg. its a good. and fast phone but roms are out of the picture. stock 4.1.2, rooted and tweaked is about the best you gonna get. but just being rooted makes all the difference. there are ways to make the ext sd card usable. even to move apps to sd, pic storage to sd, try boost Mobile music store to get music to sd. and still having flash player support (threw a archived file download from adobe) is a major plus. xposed framework will let you get the most out of this phone once rooted and backed up to a ext sd card. and questions please dont hesitate to contact me
