Been there done that... Try reflashing xionia recovery... On the instructions doesn't say that you have to unpack both files, it only mentions the .RAR FILE. Unzip the flash_image.zip put the file on the root of your sd card then follow the rest of the instructions. .Hope this helps

Re: Optimus S Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllpppp!!!

IF you can get tot he phone via ADB and have SuperUser you can install Xionia.

Re: Optimus S Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllpppp!!!

superuser crashes because root is gone. bout to throw this phone

Don't give up. There are very knowlegable people here that know some possible fixes for you. But they also have jobs. Just give them a chance.

Re: Optimus S Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllpppp!!!

When you boot to recovery what happens? Blank screen, loop, or skips to Android?

Can you boot into Android? What version of Android do you currently have installed?

You might have mentioned some of this already, but lots of it was written in panic-style so I figured I'd just ask again.

Just to help along, to boot to recovery, hold down Volume Down, Home and Power buttons simultaneously until LG logo shows up...

theres no recovery. i've rooted evo's,wildlife's,hero's(yes all htc) so i pretty much got that down packed

If you are getting a blank screen when booting into recovery, then you likely do have recovery, it just is an older version that doesn't have the LCD drivers for your phone. It'll still be functional (as in you can select all the operations), you just won't get any visual feedback.

However I don't know which recovery you have as there are more than one recovery that suffers from the LCD problem.

You likely can recover from this, but if you keep messing with the phone you might get into a state where you can't recover.

First thing you can try is as the previous poster mentioned, Android Screencast. This will display your phone's framebuffer in a window on your PC. You need to enable Screencast inside of Android, then reboot into recovery while keeping the USB cable plugged in. It won't work directly from recovery.

If that doesn't work, I need to know what process you did to get where you are at.

You said you are on grom 2.2, which is a ZVH rom. How did you get to ZVH? Did you follow the ZVH rooting thread? If not, please explain what you did in more detail.

I basically need to figure out what you have installed and "blank screen" isn't very descriptive, so I need to back track and figure out what you did to figure out what you have.

Yes, please detail every step you an remember.

You started with stock LG/Sprint Froyo at eithr V8, V9, VC or VD.

Then you rooted.

Then you installed a Recovery (ThunderC, Xionia)

Then you installed a ROM (Froyo most likely)

Now, you say you had gROM which is ZVH Gingerbread, Was that fully functional? We need to make sure you have the ZVH radio as well as gROM.

Now, after that you messed around with ROM Manager and mucked the phone.

Please explain all you can remember so we can get you back.

ok it took me a min to find a root for it. 1st i tried z4root 1.30 but it kept coming back "unable to install" so i tried 2.1 got he same result. then i tried gingersnap and it said it was successful. but when i used root checker , i was not rooted. so i went and found another z4rootand that worked. so know i need a recovery. and the only 1 i could think of was clockworkmod(being that i use that on my evo). and thats where the S#!t starts. i went to try recovery but i got the black screen. then i tried searching for a solution. saw too many that it made my head hurt. tried RomTools v231 cause i hate typing and didnt want to use adb or terminal.(im lazy) it push the rom but no recovery. now my service is out. and still no recovery. tried to use k500.....loks like its working then says fail after 100%. really need help. this phone is a headache. htc and samsung is alot easier

Okay so your recovery (no doubt that you have one) does not have the drivers for the new LCD and that is why you get the black screen. You are going to need a computer and use screencast to see recovery. You are going to have to get xionia custom recovery flashed on to your phone. That is the only custom recovery that will work with the new LCD. It also sounds like the radio is messed up so you will have to flash the zvd update.zip to get to radio back. Then if all goes well you can Re root ect
