Yeah- it was a tough fight. "Officially" it says you get them if you appy the code during activation on the web-- ie-- not if you activate through a Customer service rep. When I first talked to a rep I mentioned this- and said I wanted to activate the phone with whatever number I got- but then, in a week or so i would want to port an existing number from another carrier. They suggested I activate with a customer service rep-- it would "be easier"-- "don't worry -- you'll still get your kickback credit"
After mentioning it three times during activation, I finally had to get a Supervisor to give me the credit. And then had to call 3 more times to finally get it applied. And then found out it probably won't make much difference anyway---
I'm on the $25/300 minute plan too. The 300 ATM (Any Time Minutes) doesn't change.
I ony found out the extra minutes had been added to my account when I checked my usage through the web and noticed they were being used at the start of the month-- before using the 300-- so-- they aren't of any value at all unless the month the code is added you make it a point to talk 60 extra minutes-- and then hang up fast. So, I know I got them and they are in use-- I still can't figure it out completely-- based on minutes remaining being less than 300, they are used up. The calls are annotated-- ATM minutes, bonus minutes,, but I still can't make it add up.
I had assumed they would stay on the account untill I used them by going over the 300

,
...but it doesn't work that way.
- I have Skype- and since they went to 3G application a few days after I got the Optimus V and the old cell number ported, I use my Skype number for incoming and outgoing- calls and the VM number for texting in/out-
300 minutes a month should be enough to train people to use what they knew as my cell number for texts and use the skype number- which they knew as my "home number" --for voice calls.
It makes it a bit more complicated, but for a total cost of about 30 bucks I have a smart phone and essentially unlimited everything.
Have you actually gotten the extra minutes on your $24/$40 BeyondTalk plan from a Kickback? Reason I ask is that I had gotten a VM text that I got 60 bonus minutes under the Pass It On program (when someone else activates your old phone). But under My Account, it still showed my minutes limit at 300. So my assumption is that it only applied to the "regular" prepaid plans and not BeyondTalk.
