Is there a way to customize the toolbar that is on the bottom of the screen? The one with the phone, contacts, messaging, and browser?

Long press the one you want to remove. Just like any other icon. You can replace it by dragging and dropping the icon you want there. I have replaced two.

You can also drag folders there, as well. I LOVE this feature!
