Can anyone please give me my options to Root my phone for Router capability after I just bought my EVO with 2.2 installed.?

The sprint rep must have applied the OTA update for you. As of today you have no options for root. Its just a matter of time though.

Not trying to be a Communist ha, but please search before you post, there's probably more than one post on the first page about this same topic...

Ikr. Is it that hard to look down? lol. There's like 4 post about this same thing on the first page. I wonder if the Mods see all this?

Sticky this.

There are two other threads, specifically explaining this within the headline, and within the thread repeatedly asking for a sticky that says 2.2 is not rootable...honestly I think if they can't see something similar 4 posts down and are using their first post to ask a well know, easily searchable question...it's not going to help to sticky it anyway. I think that this should be far more regulated...threads like this one should be deleted and something should be said to the OP by the moderator, but this is a fairly friendly place that is easy to find. So I understand why the mods wouldn't want to be ban happy...not that I wouldn't mind seeing it.

PLEASE FOR EVERYONE'S SAKE, YOU SIGNED UP, YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT, USE THE NICE LITTLE SEARCH FEATURE THEY HAVE HERE.

Lawlz...

I got your Frodo Root right here....

Lets see if we can get another forum Debate goin... :p

You know what I tried? I called sprint and made my way to a 'specialist' who was gonna walk me through a downgrade ota to 2.1 (then its plausible to root), but he needed a evo in his hands to walk me through the process...then he hung up the phone. Was that even possible in the first place?

Don't you think if it was possible someone would have done it by now....

Maybe when new members sign up they should be taken to a page that says, in big bold letters, "YOU CANNOT ROOT 2.2 YET thank you for joining the android central community."

I'm pretty sure I read that with 2.2 something was locked down in the boot loader preventing the loading of older RUU's.

The people that loaded the .3 leaked 2.2 update were not able to go back to 2.1 either using the RUU method.

Well, I haven't read of anyone trying. Sorry I asked.
And its stickier on xda, I can read. I was just curious if sprint could send 2.1 to my phone like an ota update. But I guess not, ill be quiet and wait.
