Order page is UP!! Who bought one? (DOCKS too!!)

I ordered mine yesterday but when I ordered it they had already eliminated the price discount. I'm not concerned there as I'm a Prime member (yeah, I know), so I get the price warranty. If they lower the price they refund me the difference. In any case, I ordered the champagne color but no dock. I didn't realize those were available for preorder as well.

I have one technical question. This will be my first Android tablet. Will all the apps I have on my phone get downloaded into the tablet once I log onto my Google account? I have been curious about this.

My order for the tablet (32GB Champagne) and keyboard is placed. However, both orders say "the following items will arrive after December 25th". Anyone else see that? If this is really true I'll probably just cancel mine. This is from Amazon, for the record.

Hi. I just checked my Amazon.com order and it does not state anywhere that it will get here after 12/25/11. It only says that I'll get an email when they have a shipping date. Hope this helps.

Are you looking on your order status page? Here is a cut and paste from my order status:

Shipment 1 of 1: The following item will arrive after December 25, 2011.
Not yet shipped

We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item. It will ship separately. You can cancel at any time.

Note that the word after on the web page is highlighted in red, whereas the other text is black.

Hi. Yes I looked on my order page. But I just learned from PhoneArena that the ship date is on or around 12/16. See below...

Asus Transformer Prime release date scheduled for December 16, says Amazon
Asus Transformer Prime release date scheduled for December 16, says Amazon

Thanks for that info. I sure it's true and they don't postpone. I have never pre-ordered a device, but I've researched tablets pretty thoroughly, and I want this one. I just don't want to wait until next year to get it.

Interestingly, I just chatted with an Amazon rep. She said these are now in a backordered status, and so she change my shipping to overnight for free (Amazon rocks!). However, I also now have an actual expected ship date. January 5th, 2012. Argh! Didn't Asus under manufacture the last Transformer tablet? I ordered this thing last night, and it's already in to next year before shipping? I'm not happy but I guess I can't do much about it.

Oh, man. Sorry to hear that. I know those of us who preordered are so very excited for this. There is no way I'm fighting the lines tonight to doorbust Best Buy to get the old Transformer for $249. Not to mention, this new Prime is too sexy, too thin, and basically awesome^99 to pass it up.

My next door neighbor is an Asus reseller, similar to Amazon, but on a much smaller level. He is allocated a certain amount of stock that he may sell, but not over. I believe his stock date is around the middle of December, which means he can order up to the maximum of his preorder (if he wants, or has orders to fill). After his fill order, he gets another date set by Asus on when his next stock (or re-stock) of the item is available. But he is not told this in advance. He can inform Asus on what his expected stock amount from preorders can be but Asus decides in the end.

I believe Amazon, Best Buy, etc. are in similar situations. I remember when the original Transformer went on sale, Amazon was sold out in about 2 minutes. Maybe less, I can't remember.

Asus is following the examples set by many companies these days. Hype up an item, control the stock, inflate the expected pre-orders (by leaking processor speed tests, comparisons, leaks of the device in its entirety, and camera pictures/videos of the device) and release only small amounts through outlets and retails. Whether there is truly a manufacturing problem is anyone's guess. I'm sure we will hear about that in time.

Luckily (or unluckily) for us there are multiple outlets to order from. It's similar to the demand for the iphone 4s. In my area, Best Buy (all 9 stores) have no idea when they will have the Sprint version in. They can't even order it. GF had to walk into an Apple store in order to buy one. Even Sprint's own site is backlogged, the 2 Sprint stores we checked claimed they could order us one - but the wait time was 5-7 Business days.

Lets just hope those of us that preordered will indeed get it in a timely manner, or by Christmas.

It depends. If your option on your phone is to backup and automatically restore, some will. Those apps made for both phone and tablet (or at least have a tablet version available) will most likely be recognized by Google Market and start to download.

On the other hand, I know that I bought a few Amazon Apps on my phone, and when I got the original transformer it would not allow me to download the Tablet app on Amazon without paying. I contacted the creator and they bypassed this and sent me a registered download link. This also allowed me to get updates regularly from Google Market.

When ICS comes, I think it won't matter anymore for the most part - if the creator has developed the app to be used for ICS. I could be wrong about this but that was the whole reason for ICS - to bring tablet and phone together (much like the Asus PadFone, zazing!)

Jack....It didn't before but now 2 days after I bought it is all of a sudden saying that it will not be delivered until after December 25, 2011. I am so disappointed also.

Had to order from Best Buy amazon was sold out (Strange) But i was able to find out it will arrive between the 18-23 of December and the dock will arrive on the 7th of January (also strange) but i am very excited and awaiting its arrival.:D:D:D:D

Mine did not say that before either and it does now. Lame. Is this happening to everyone else who ordered from amazon? I ordered the first morning it was available.

It's definitely a fluid situation. My tablet changed to estimated ship date of January 5, 2012. I'm still hoping that Amazon is being conservative and that I'll get it sooner. I'm not patient when it comes to my computer items, but it seems I have little recourse.

Same here January 5th and I got upgraded shipping and a five dollar gift card all via email with a rep. Hope they get stock sooner :/ I was hoping before Xmas we can cross our fingers I got grey with dock 32gb don't see need for 64 when its got microsd slot.

Mine said that the moment I ordered on the evening of the 22nd. Perhaps those who ordered really early on (i.e., shortly after the pre-order page became available) didn't see the message because Amazon hadn't even gotten around to implementing it yet. My theory is that it's just a default warning until after they figure out when the actual ship date will be. They just don't want people thinking they'll get it before Christmas until Amazon can actually guarantee that it'll get there before Christmas.

For the record, I've been checking since I read others having this problem. The warning did not show until yesterday. If you preordered, especially immidiately after it was available, check and see. LURKERS COME OUT AND POST. I think it will bring peace of mind to many if we know what's happening to them all.
