Oreo 8 rolling out now, just got it

Still waiting for AT&T. I know Verizon used to be the one to update last but I guess the tables have turned.

So they took out the assigned message tone, now I can't tell who's messaging me. I have certain tones for my family, work and friends.

03/20/2018 - I'm on AT&T with a Samsung S8 and the update is in progress! Samsung Experience 9.0 Upgrade w/Oreo. Says 1548.94 MB in size. About time AT&T!

Update? What update? I bought unlocked, specifically _NOT_ VZW so I wouldn't have to wait extra time to get updates. Now I see VZW users get Oreo and I'm still waiting. Guess I'll really have to give up features and get the next Pixel after I get this paid off just so I get updates the same year they're released.

I finally updated my Verizon S8 this morning. I waited to see if there were any problems reported. Total download and update was less than an hour. The update was flawless. I also use Nova Prime and Chronus Widget and every works! Response time appears to be faster.

I'm on T- Mobile with the S8 and I am furious over the loss of individual message tones, gone! I hate it so much that I'm looking to drop smart phones completely for some other communication since I can't find a way around this stupidity. I cannot find a program to replace this feature and I'm not the only one furious about this change. I suspect there will be a significant drop in android loyalty after this stupid move. This is a major step backwards in technology on smart phones. Dumb move!

Anyone with a factory unlocked S8+ getting it yet? I'm still waiting. ☹️

I chatted with 3 separate Samsung reps about this and, as predicted, got three different responses. One stated that the unlocked update is already out, but is being rolled out in waves and my wife's S8 just hasn't gotten it yet. Another stated that Samsung is still working on it and they have no timeframe for the rollout. The third rep stated that Samsung is rolling the update out to the carrier variants first and that the unlocked variant rollout will begin next week.

The explanation provided by the third rep seems more plausible than the other two, as the rep provided a lot of details. Take that as you will.

My money is on rep number 3.
