Oreo AOD lost features. Requires double tap now.

Just received my Oreo update and the Always On Display now requires double tap + swipe to see Today's Schedule. That makes the feature just about useless. I can wake up the phone and click on the Calendar with less effort.

Is there any way to always show today's events on the Always On Display like I had previously on Nougat?

Go to Settings, Lock Screen, Other Security Settings, then Notification Access.
