Well if it's anything like the honor 8 nougat beta program last year, it'll still be a couple months. I believe the beta came out in early November but the final build didn't come out till February.

Emui 4 to 5 was a big jump though... And they were trying different things in the beta until they finalized it. 5 to 8 shouldn't be as big of a jump, at least in terms of emui changes

That's true. The next os sounds like it's going to be very similar to emui 5 with only a few under the hood changes. Still, I don't think we'll see the final realease shortly after the beta ends. Hoping before the end of the year though.
