Oreo on Galaxy S8?

Hey y'all.

I saw that Android 8 (Oreo) is coming soon or maybe even here now. I'm wondering if I'll be able to get it for my new S8?

If so... will my phone automatically update to version 8?

I'm still on 7.0 Apparently Samsung are slow with updates.
Checked again today no joy.

It's going to be a while. I'm thinking March 2018 at the earliest.

Oh. So it will work on the s8 then. Is it just a matter of time before we get It?

If it's anything like Bixby voice then the US will probably get it months before the UK.

Not at this time, with Samsung it's generally best to wait for an official update.

Depending on the model, flashing a custom ROM would be the fastest way to get it. But even then it would still be a while....I am not sure of the base code has been released yet.

Cheers. I think I'm just going to be patient and wait. I don't really want to do anything that could possibly mess my phone up because I did it wrong. I ain't got enough experience with Android to do stuff like flashing and/or rooting yet anyway.

Nothing wrong with that. I waited until I had a spare android before I really started flashing different ROMs.
