Organizing and clearing "App Cards"

[Android Central Question]

I'm not sure what they're called... I'm calling them app cards. I'll try to share a screenshot below. I believe that in the previous OS version, we were able to clear all cards at the same time. But now we can't. does anybody know a way to get that feature back again? Also, I believe in the past it was organized to move up and down, but now it moves horizontally which does not seem to be an efficient use of space. Again, does anybody know how to get that feature back without reverting to a previous version of the OS.

I posted the thread without registering first. Here's the screenshots I was talking about. The Android OS scrolls horizontal and I'm looking for something vertical, like in Chrome.

That's the Overview screen. You can't change that, unfortunately -- it's baked into the system.

Nooooo! I love my Pixel but was disappointed when they made that change.

I wonder if anyone out there has any 3rd party or rooted solutions. I've never rooted the phone but would consider it if there was a solution...

You can still clear all of the apps from the Overview by scrolling all the way to the left and tapping Clear All. If you're doing this to "clear RAM," then keep in mind that doing so doesn't really help the system.

Ok. Thanks...I honestly haven't really noticed the "clear all" to the left. It's probably because it's soooo far! Lol

What's the best place to make suggestions or comments on the OS? Maybe they'll consider changing back. ... Of course maybe I'm the only one bothered by it....

There should be a Help & Feedback option in the system settings -- that's the best way to give feedback.
