Organizing icons

I am a very organized person. I like catagorizing games on one page, shopping apps on another, music and multimedia on another etc. is there another easier way to move the icons other than the normal "applications/menu button/edit and then select the desired icon and slide it to move. Is there any other way I can modify the icon list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to drag and drop them but now I use Folder Organizer and am very happy with it. Much easier to have them grouped inside folders and the folders on your homescreen.

I agree with folders. I use one for reference, one for entertainment, etc.
