Yeah it most definitely helped the android movement. At least for me it did. Seeing the Droid commercials on the TV made me want an android device.

Phillip, Gingerbread is hopefully going to change that. From what I have read it seems they are going to have a standard ui and an optional manufacturer ui which IMO is MUCH better.

If Gingerbread pulls that off, it'll be great. Next step is getting unlocked and NON-cryptosigned boot loaders.

I am actually more pissed that I have been paying $8.95 for insurance for 8 months only to find out that my Droid will not be replaced with a Droid, but instead a Devour or LG Ally.....WTF....

It looks like that may not be true anymore. Droid Forums posted this saying you would get a Droid X or Incredible.

Wow, I've only had my Droid for almost 4 months now and it's already EOL. No biggie, my phone is rockin with Froyo and I'm sure the ROM/mod community will keep it alive until my next upgrade date comes in 2012.

Agreed. I love moto's hardware, but I think my next device is going to be HTC.
