Original Nexus 7, anyone get 4.3 yet?

Always in couple of days old nexus devices will start to get the latest updates. Old nexus devices will get the updated after new nexus devices launch with latest os for purchase online from the playstore.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will be hitting Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 10 devices from today, so now's the time to start hammering that "Check for updates" button, if you're into that sort of thing. Google Play edition phones are promised updates "very soon." from AC

But my understanding is that an Image will wipe your device - whereas waiting for the OTA will preserve the stuff you have onboard.

If you want to start over and reinstall everything fresh on a new OS, an image would be okay - otherwise...

Yes flashing the factory image requires a full device wipe. Better for most users to wait for the OTA.

@rumorednow you've been repeating the bit about the factory images being available in a few threads now.. But it's not an ideal method of updating for majority of users. Better to not introduce more confusion where most folks don't need it. Thanks.

I flashed it from a ROM on XDA, all of my settings, apps, and root stayed after the update. Speed wise, it is much better and so far battery life is better too. I seriously was considering getting the new Nexus 7 until I tried 4.3 and I'm completely satisfied again (haven't been this satisfied since 4.1.2).

I got mine yesterday. It's so strange because I got the update for it and the N4 at the same time (as near as I can tell) so I thought it must be seeing a wide release - that's pretty strange timing, eh? Alas, I have no report on it as I donated the old N7 to my parents after picking up the new one at Best Buy
