OS update after service provider change?

I'm just about to change from Bell to Rogers for my cell service. But Rogers doesn't offer the Z3C.

Will my Z3C still get the automatic update to marshmallow?

If it's carrier branded, it depends. Not all carriers do it, but some (most notable for it is AT&T) DO lock down updates to having a SIM card from the carrier to update, even if unlocked.

Also, if it's a carrier version and the carrier doesn't block it, you won't get it as an OTA when on mobile data; you'd have to check for updates via WiFi or, if Sony has it, through their PC Software.

I have done the same thing as you - I have gotten the updates at the time that bell releases them. So it will get the update whenever bell releases it. Hope this helps!
