OTA and NOVA

After accepting the OTA, I found that I had "lost" Nova launcher. Not really, it was still there and I could go to it, but no matter what my settings were, when returning home from an app, message or phone call, it would go back to the Sense launcher. In other words, even when setting Nova as the default launcher, this setting would not "stick."

At first I tried deleting Nova and reinstalling (mistake as, despite the backup function which worked fine for apps and folders on the home screens, it was not able to restore widgets so had to manually redo all of those) Unfortunately , that did not help.

Then it dawned on my that perhaps the problem was the "Home Switcher" app that I had installed for the rare times I wanted to go back to the stock Sense launcher. Deleted that and - presto! - I could now set Nova as the default launcher again and it sticks.

Have not yet reloaded Home Switcher yet, but I will to see if it works again of if it still has issues

I've had Nova for a couple weeks, finally decided to dig into it last night.

Totally smitten, I am.

Interestingly, the only strangeness I saw was with its "select default home" setting. I was able to switch back and forth between Sense and Nova but at one point it seemed to simply toggle, rather than pay specific attention to whichever I'd set. In other words after deliberately switching back and forth between the two, I set Nova as default, then went in and re-selected Nova. Tapped Home - and I got Sense. Launched Nova as an app, went into settings, selected Nova again, tapped Home - and got Nova.

Might have been me I guess; it was kind of late. Anyway I stopped trying after I got things how I wanted.

Glad you found a fix for the strangeness you saw; good to know.
