ota froyo update fascinate verizon

just updated wife's phone (NOT ROOTED) to the ota froyo update from 2.1, having issues with the battery life. Happen for two days now wife's phone was fully charged in the morning checked facebook for about 2 minutes, made two phone calls about 3 minutes came home 8 hrs later phone was on the red bar. Second day turned off all apps, live screen savers, put phone in power saving mode still same result at the end of the day red bar. Had phone for 4 months only now having problems with batter since update. Any body having issues with the new update?

Update won't take

I have tried all weekend to apply this update. I am not rooted nor have I been. Tried 10 times all failed.
In desperation I reset to factory new. Tried 5 more times, still failed. The update downloads fine. Then when I click ok for the 6 minute install, about 2 minutes in I get a failure notice. Info says something like "IP previous update failed." Even tho I had everything backed up with Backup Pro, restoring all my stuff and redoing all my screens was a major PITA. Tomorrow I am taking the phone to Verizon store to see if they can update it. If not, they had better be ready to supply me with a new phone. :'(:(

Edit: They did. Updated but what a pain getting things back to where they were. Many programs operate differently now and I am having another learning curve experience.
