OTA software update starting 7/26.

i have the update but f that im not doing it. This is a BS update. Sprint is so full of it. Im guessing it does minor things.

I got the update this morning right when I woke up, haven't really seen any signal boost and quite frankly I didn't even use local search so yea.

Got the update this morning, I'm in Southern California. I want Official JB! Sprint needs to give answers!

My wife got the update this morning but she's rooted and I'm telling her to hold off. Any reason she should get it?

I'm wondering the same thing. Should I even bother with this update? I don't want to lose local search. Also, if I decide not to update, can I stop the annoying popups for it? (Not rooted)

This is weird, if this updates takes away universal search on the G'nex then why do I still have it on my Nexus 7 with 4.1.1. Quite odd don't you think?

I believe Google implemented a different method I forget what they called it but they explained it during their keynote at Google IO . Well anyway I think they have enough patents and paperwork so that if Apple tries any be they can defend themselves quite easily.

No universal search. I never used it anyway. Speeds are same to me and signal still sucks as usual. Oh well. 80$ a month for unlimited crappy service lol

FINALLY UPDATED!!!!!!!!!!!

Had to force it, but it worked. You will need to do a battery pull so remove any case you may have. This is how it worked for me.

1- *#*#2432546#*#* on touchpad.
2- It will say "checkin succeeded" at the top. Do not clear this message
3- Go to Settings, then Apps. Hit "ALL"
4- Scroll down and go into "Google Services Framework"
5- Hit "Clear Data" then OK. Hit "Force Stop" then OK. Do not exit from that screen.
6- Do a battery pull.
7- Wait at least 5 minutes. A little more is OK.
8- Install battery, power up. It should then prompt you to OK Google info and then the FG02 update.
9- Profit. :p

Let us know if it works for you.

This way of updating works for me perfectly. And I can tell you 100 percent it's not the placebo effect. My phone is getting all bars and downloading app within seconds what is used to take minutes. They must've updated some of the firmware for something to do with the antennas because this phone is working much, much better than it was.
