Am hearing mixed messages. The ROM from XDA appears to require a full wipeout of the phone. The OTA simply doesn't work on rooted phone, got that..
Using unrevoked3, it sounds like many are able to apply the manual update and then run unrevoked3 again, not having to wipe the phone out. This seems to be the way to go, not the XDA ROM.
Again...then just flash like we would when we are trying out ROMS? I have downloaded it frm xda since this am btw...thx
Yes, it has been working to do the OTA then root again but it's much better to wipe and start with a cleanly installed ROM. Getting your data back after a wipe is no big deal if you have it backed up.
I know how you hate unrevoked, but I don't think it's really the problem. The problem is the people that are using it. I used unrevoked 3.21 and I have had absolutely no problems at all, but I fully read the directions and understood what I was doing before I did it.
I think too many people are just using it without fully reading the directions and they don't understand what they are doing. They think because it's a "one click root" they can just install it and be done. They don't think they will screw anything up because it's the "easy way". If people can't handle unrevoked, they don't have a prayer of doing it the long way.

Good to know you did all that... and your one of the very few people who did this...
Regardless if you took the time to read that why didnt you just Root the real way!?! lol
