Yeah also i would like to mention you can do this with Es File explorer. Just click the root option under settings Allow SU. Go to the file and just rename it otacerts.zip.bak I did this even though I'm running a custom rom just to make sure!

You have to also go to the option under Allow SU and check Mount File System (at least I had to before it would let me rename it).

Hello,
Recently, I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 (Boost Mobile) running Android 4.3. Phone is working fine but am wondering how to rename the file Otacerts.zip to Otacerts.bak. I've tried using Root Explorer but am met with the message "otacerts.zip cannot be renamed because the file system is read only." I've read another post on here about checking some box but there is no
box to mount/unmount when attempting to rename the file.

Can OTA updates be blocked any other way?
Thank you!

Keep a smile on your face and love in your heart!
