OTA updates and screen rotation on the nexus 7

Hello I have another noob question If I decide to ROOT my nexus 7 but don't use a custom ROM and leave it like it is (just rooted) will I recive OTA updates as I would without rooting? And if i decide to change the DPI settings like here: Bringing the larger tablet look to the Nexus 7 - YouTube will that effect anything on the tablet that it shouldn't?

Just rooted, without changing the system or recovery, you should receive OTAs just fine. You'll probably have to root the OTA but that will be very simple.

I can't say for if you change the screen rotation, but I'd guess it should not affect anything. You can always undo it if you need to, I'm sure

If you wanna rotate the screen just get the app screen rotation. Works perfectly in my tests. No rooting required.
