Other line can't hear

Having an issue whenever I answer a call the other person can't hear me and I can't hear them. Restarting the phone fixes it, but it's caused me to miss a couple important calls now.

Anyone know of a fix or having similar issues?

I've had the same issue and restarting seems to be the only solution

I had a similar issue , not sure if they couldn't hear me but I for sure couldn't hear them. I couldn't even hear my VM when I called it, until I did a battery pull because just powering down with the button wasn't enough, hasn't happened since 10/17/10 tho.

I've had the same thing happen to me and a restart did fix it. Its pretty annoying though.

Count me in as having the same problem. It happened to me last night and I had to restart my phone.

i had it happen on 2.1 and a battery pull or restart did not fix it. i had to get a replacement hasnt happened again

I've accidentally muted my X from the phone screen when it has touched my face before the proximity sensor kicks in. Maybe this is happening??

This happened again(oct17th on road trip was first time it happened) on this dam dx(POS)... last week phone was lying on table pushed answer and showed connected could NOT hear a thing even tho connected ,like phone was dead,could power off either touched power down and nothing happened , had to battery pull to reset the phone .I'm suppose to be pushing the phones buttons(well touching them) NOT it pushing my buttons(grrr ). Nothing has been installed in forever on this phone

Can you tell if the X goes into airplane mode on its own or is set in airplane mode? That would cut the radio signals, but wouldn't account for the bricking part... which appears to be happening when you get a call.

Sounds like there's a conflict somewhere, which results in the X freezing up. Try uninstalling your downloaded apps one at a time and do a test call after each uninstall.

Or, you may have to do a factory data reset and re-download the apps afterward. There's a good sticky thread in this forum on how to do this without re-installing the problems. You will want to freshly download your apps rather than re-installing from a backup. It seems like it would be complicated, but isn't really. Solves a lot of problems.

Nope for sure no airplane mode the call shows connected, doesnt happen every call just way random twice on oct.17 in mi. and last week in nc. Both times I was 3g
I havent install from a backup Any apps,i have done 2 factory resets both from the hard reset not from the reset in the settings . I have done with the retore backup disable as well but thanks for mentioning also.

I not doing any more resets and throwing in the towel/scraping the dx in spring next year anyway,no confidense in it anymore.Dont want another replacement of the dx and since its the only dx I had doubt vzw would let me switch on a first refurb on it .
Actually I wouldnt want the facinate and already have the dinc anyhoo

Did anyone ever figure out what caused this? It just happened to me yesterday for the first time, the caller tried me 4 times, everytime I picked up the phone, I couldn't hear them, they couldn't hear me. I called my phone from a landline with the same issue, restarting it fixed it, but using this for business, I cannot afford that happening.

Do any of you guys have google voice set up to ask if you want to connect with or without google voice? I changed that setting and it has not happened to me again. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

no google voice for me, i noticed this started happening a few days after the froyo update. I reboot my phone at least once a day if not 2 times just to avoid this problem happening. Ive said from the beginning that this is a phone first before it is a multimedia device. I dont see it as often with reboots daily.

someone said somewhere it had something to do with your PRL, i declare shennanigans on that since it never happened on 2.1, its a software issue and nothing more. I think it happens after you use media of some form, mp3 you tube, tv, certain apps that use audio. That's my guess and im sticking to it

Np with hearing on my phone either it hasnt happened since Oct.20,2010 so glad of that.

Unfortunately tho another known bug has took that ones place, But also did read on motorola forum "maybe the update will be here soon"

This happened to me last week. Did a battery pull and fixed it, but it happened again a few days later. Another battery pull and so far so good. Really annoying.

In all fairness, never had that one happen. Might want to use compressed air to clear the mike once in awhile?

Its not the mic. If it were then the other line may be able to hear me muffled at least. Also I cannot hear the other line when this happens to me. It says the phone is connected but i hear nothing.

mine only happens to certain lines, and it seems everyone else can hear??? so i dont know!
