Otterbox case pics are up!!!

I have the Seidio Active X,it's a great case for sure, but i work in construction so i want a real tuff case. My friend has one for his Iphone and its great.so ill be getting rid of the Seideo.

This is great news. My wife has been wanting an otter case for her Evo ever since she saw one on a friend of ours iPhone 3gs.

I think I mentioned that I had the Seidio Active Limited Edition holster combo. Its an ok case, I prefer the otterbox on my blackberry (I think I said that too)

Since I got the car dock, the case doesn't work with that setup, neither does the holster if its naked. I ordered another holster made by seidio due to their quality, this holster will hold a naked EVO.

I unfortunately will not be needing my seidio case on a regular basis with the setup I choose to go with. I would rather have a car dock that will accommodate a seidio case not one of those universal holders.

I probably will buy an otterbox case though, they are better built even though seidio is pretty good, I will more than likely use my seidio case when I go traveling in October where I will not have access to my car dock and uncase it when I get home.

Tempting, VERY tempting! Looks nicer than the Seidio Active, but we won't know for sure until someone does a side by side review.

I too am going to wait a little for the Defender.

Same here, I already have the Active so I don't wanna buy the same type of case. Even if it is better quality, my Active was just packaged up and sent back to Seidio for the 2nd time today....the rubberized coating is completely worn off 3 corners just like my 1st one. Its going on Ebay once it gets back to me.

I'm waiting for the Defender and then I will be a 2 case guy. The Casemate Barely There (work in a office during the week) and the Defender (I mountain bike, hunt, and camp almost every weekend).

I mostly want the Defender to keep out dust and lint, how well do you guys think this commuter case will keep dust at bay? I'm worried about it getting trapped in the corners. Do you have that problem with the Active?

just ordered the commuter, i'll let you guys know how it is when it comes in.

I just ordered the Otterbox Commuter series for the EVO. I let you know how it is. If anyone wants to order I found a coupon code that gives you free shipping and 10% off.

Here it is: tb810z

That should get you the free shipping(FEDEX) and 10% off.

By the way, does anyone know anything about the screen protector that is included. Is it any good? Is it clear or antiglare? I have a boxwave crystal clear on now, but I just scratched it up and need to replace and don't know if I should wait to see how the protector is. Anyone who has gotten the Otterbox's before, how are the included screen protectors?

I thought the one that came with my htc hero commuter case was pretty good.

It had a glass like reflection, no anti-glare or smudge proof qualities, but it goes on not too sticky so you can lift it up if you need to, thick enough to hold it on the edges while you apply it without it folding up, and if you lay it on from one side to the other you get barely any air bubbles, the few you do get are easily wiped away with your finger.

It has a top layer you peel away when you're done, and once you do I recommend you not use the little credit card squeege they give you that scratched my screen guard a little bit.

Once it was on I could not tell there was a screen guard. It did get a couple scratches after about a month, but like I said pretty nice.

Whats out now... the defender isn't if thats what you mean.

It's the slimmest, 2 piece one, no holster. Just a very thin rubber skin with a plastic clamp-on outer shell. It did have all the rubber covers for accessing the ports too. But for $35, I was not that impressed, so did not buy one. I felt my BB's Platinum (Seidio) case and holster does me just fine.

Does anyone actually have either Commuter or Defender who can give an even brief review of look and feel, added bulk, etc? Especially awesome would be one that compares it to Seido Active Limited Edition....

What is "the slimmest, 2 piece one, no holster" above here? The Commuter sold at Sprint stores??

Evo Otterbox Commuter Case Review - Android Forums

quite a few of us in this thread are commenting on it in the above link.

All in all great case with a few potential weaknesses, the top part by the earpiece can lift easily, they should have brought the rubber down to where the screen starts like the defender and impact are supposed to. And the bottom port cover and a small piece that runs along the screen at the bottom could be a problem. The port cover doesn't go into the ports to it's not super secure the way they have it. Mine has been staying put, but it takes some work to to seat it correctly.

I'd also like to say it's a little wobbly when you use the kickstand because of that band that goes along the camera.

IMO besides the heavy duty cases like the defender and ballistic stuff, this is probably the best mid-protection case. I may try out a defender when it comes, but I really like a hard plastic outer shell so perhaps not.

I'd definitely recommend it.

I also put on the otterbox screen guard last night and I like it way better than zagg.
