Otterbox Commuter vs Seidio Active

Welcome to the forum.
I have used both of the cases. Each on different phones, neither was on my magnificent note 2. I can't speak directly to their use on the note 2 but both are great cases. If you're looking for protection I doubt you will be disappointed with either.
The defender offers more protection with more bulk.
The bulk and rubberiness (?) Make pocketability a bit tricky. Shouldn't be too much of an issue. Kind of depends on your pockets.
The kickstand is definitely a gimmick.
If I had to choose I would take the active.
For a rugged case I'm holding out for a trident kraken or lifeproof fre of they ever come out.
Until then I'm rocking an iOttie macaron with a tempered glass screen protector. I really like this case. It's very sleek and sexy. The bumper is grippy but not rubbery so it doesn't stick or collect lint. It's extra thick at the corners and the polpolycarbonate back makes it feel study. Comes in half a dozen colors.
Screen protector is the seidio vitreo.

Go with the Otterbox. They have the best quality and protection. The kickstand on the other is a very flimsy gimmick.
