Otterbox Defender case question?

I got an otterbox defender case for my G4 because I want to keep this phone as long as possible and my previous phone broke because of one too many drops, so I wanted a case that will fully protect it. I'm using it now though and while I like it the only thing is the plastic screen cover on it. It is annoying to me, I feel touch sensitivity doesn't work as well, it sometimes just feels weird to touch on the screen, and it gets dirty (especially when you take it in sunlight you can see a bunch of crap on the screen and inside too, I have everything closed up too not sure how it's getting in) . Would you recommend another case? I looked at the commuter case too, and it seemed decent (and came with a screen protector instead of a plastic piece). I've heard of people removing the plastic from the defender and just using a regular screen protector..how does that work out?

I have punched out the plastic on the otterbox defender on a previous phone. Pretty easy to do. Then throw on a quality tempered glass screen protector and you should be good to go

I have the commuter and symmetry. The commuter feels excellent. You lose the belt clip ability but it's thinner and fits great.

I did this on the defender for my note 4. Just use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the glue before you punch it out.

Don't you have the Symmetry also?? That's a lotta Otter..... Boxes haha Which do you prefer between the symmetry and Commuter? the Defender is just too huge for me.

As much as I want to love the Symmetry more, I like the Commuter more for daily use. Feels better in the hand for me.
