otterbox defender screen

Has anyone taken off the plastic screen protector on the defender? Does it totally ruin the case? I'm thinking about taking it off because of how bad it degrades the clarity

Haven't really had any clarity issues.I have had Defender cases on all Galaxy devices that I have owned since my GS3. There should be no problem with removing and replacing it with a tempered glass screen protector like Tech Armor.

I have a defender case for my s5 and when I got a tempered screen protector it would push on the plastic screen of the case and make a small gap between that and the screen so took it off the case and it's been fine, been like that for 2 years now and no problems
