Is anyone having difficulty using Outlook. Meaning is it sluggish and non-responsive sometimes or is really delayed in it's actions.

I have talked to Outlook support and they had me reinstall my account and it worked briefly but overall the interface is very slow never had this issue before with other phones

Yes at times. Not necessarily a v30 issue. If you reset account things work for a while. Same symptom.

I found when trying to access inbox the app hangs. Closing and opening sometimes helps

The only issue I have is meeting reminders don't go off when you expect them to. If I have a reminder set for 15 minutes before, it might go off 12 minutes before, or 5 minutes before. The same thing happened on the Galaxy S7, so I don't think it is the V30.

If Outlook is used for work I strongly suggest the app Nine. Not free but worth every penny. Outlook will improve over time, but for now - not good.

what about blue mail?

Blue Mail takes a shortcut by saving data on AWS servers. This could be very bad if security is a concern. Nine doesn't host your emails in the cloud, which programitically is more complicated than Blue Mail's aproach.

CapDad, Nine can sync contacts with Android. Since I use it only for work I don't select that.

Note this was over a year ago - my knowledge of Blue Mail. Possible they changed their app. Other than that, Blue Mail worked fine with Outlook / MS Exchange. Nine is a reasonably secure app and recommended for MS Exchange environments.

In summary, both work fine. Nine is $14.99 and Bluemail is free, and doesn't have ads. Chances are your IT department would rather pay the $14.99 for Nine.

does nine sync with the contacts app on Android so you can use the phonebook
It won't sync your entire AD contact list to your Android Contacts. But it will sync the ones you saved as contacts in Desktop Outlook as far as I can tell.

I use outlook for my work email, what am I missing out on?

using nine and it's a nice app. I did like some of the features on blue mail but I think from a security standpoint nine is better. Outlook just couldn't keep up with the interface and speed
