My Outlook app closes after I open an email. It happens when I try to compose a new email or open an email from my inbox. I've cleared the cache via the App manager and then uninstalled/re-installed several times. Also restarted the phone several times. This has been happening for several weeks.

Outlook ver 4.2032.2
Samsung S6
Android ver 7.0
No system updates available - last update July 2018.

Welcome to Android Central! Try also clearing the app data. If that doesn't help, then see what happens if you uninstall all updates for Android System Webview, since updates can sometimes cause glitches for certain devices.

Go to the Play Store and search for Android System Webview, then tap Uninstall there. It will revert to the factory installed version.

Sometimes Microsoft issues a buggy Outlook app - I have had the app crash on responding to emails - fixed in later version (s) - then occasionally reappeared.

I wasn't able to locate Android System Webview using the play store but did find it going through Settings - App manager (show system apps). It shows it being disabled but I can't find a way to enable it. The "enable" button for Android System Webview is greyed out. The "Force stop" button was active so I hit that but nothing happened. On the storage screen for this app, the Clear buttons are greyed out. I restarted the phone but still the "enable" button is greyed out. Do you know of any way to enable this app?

Oh, sorry, I forgot about this -- in Nougat, Chrome takes care of the Android System Webview function. So try uninstalling updates to Chrome, at least temporarily, and see if the problem persists.

I uninstalled updates to Chrome and have same problem. Uninstalled Outlook, restarted phone, re-installed Outlook - same problem. I click on the new email icon within Outlook, the new email opens and then Outlook closes. Same thing happens when I try to reply to an email. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Tried the cache partition earlier but did it again now - no change. How best to notify the developer? Thanks for your help - it was good to try some things.

I doubt it was because I put a review on the Play Store this week, but problem is fixed. I got an Outlook update so they must have fixed it. Thanks for all the advice.
