As noted, just setting up new Pixel 4 XL March 2020, downloaded Outlook app as that is what I use on PC, web, and now new Pixel 4. Except I cant find anywhere in settings, or any info online, of how to prevent phone outlook app from deleting my mail on server & PC? HELP!
Thanks in advance,

Which email provider are you using through Outlook? Do you know if it's set up with the IMAP or POP3 server?

Are you deleting the email on the app but wanting it to stay on the server? If you're using an IMAP server, there's no need to delete an email on the phone to save storage, since the emails don't take up any space (they're synced with the server).

I use outlook as primary mail account. I like to keep phone clean with only new emails when I am out, I use it for work and need to keep all correspondence on PC /web outlook

If you're using IMAP, then the email app is simply syncing the email header list with the server. Your emails aren't all downloading physically to the phone -- that's what happens with POP3. If you delete an email on your phone with an IMAP server, then it's just like deleting the email anywhere else you access your email.

I'm not sure what you mean by keeping your phone clean -- if you're concerned about your emails taking up storage, it will only be a relatively minimal amount of storage taken up if it's an IMAP server. If you're talking about keeping your inbox clean, then organize your saved emails using folders.

thanks...by clean I mean I want an empty inbox on my phone as much as possible. I use it just so I don't miss emails while out, and then want them gone from phone. I have too many emails work wise that require lots of follow up, financial info, which I keep on my PC and then file accordingly. I don't want to deal with that on phone , it's just for quick replies etc. I did find a POP3 setting in my online outlook, will have to play with that I guess...but no way to designate phone to use POP3 and PC can be IMAP...?

My suggestion would be to just move it to a folder on your phone instead of deleting it. Any emails you have read or need to file away can be put in that 2nd inbox. Therefore keeping your Inbox clean! Might be easier then trying to mess with and figure out settings.. plus switching it away from imap on your phone sounds like you would then have the entire email stored on your phone so it might use up allot of storage over time.

Edit. I remember years ago when fiddling with outlook i was able to set it to sync with server for deleted emails or not. I cant recall which direction that was from.. either outlook wouldnt delete emails i had deleted on the server or if emails i had deleted on outlook wouldn't be deleted on the server. Somthing to look into if the above doesn't help. Mind you this was waaayyy back on windows XP😢.

I just upgraded from a Blackberry KEY2, where I could delete mail on phone without affecting PC/server.....but I guess that's because I was using the Blackberry Hub as the email app, Maybe another android email app will allow me to do what I want...
