Outlook contacts don't sync

Hi! I downloaded the outlook app on my android device and the emails synched very well but when i try to look at the contacts they weren't any. None of my outlook contacts synched. I added the same outlook account in the stock mail app and all my contacts synched just fine. It isn't pleasant to have the outlook app handling the mail and using the stock mail app just for the contacts because that's excessive battery drain. Thanks for you help.
