Software update coming....... soon? They haven't announced a exact date but the 3g/4g is supposed to come with it for verizon. The 4g update supposed to happen may maybe. I hope its soon because I habpve 3gb left.

LOL. Given I only have my xoom for couple of days, but on the other hand I have 64GB iPad from last year, and I barely reach half way.

I bought an album on Amazon for $5.00 and got 20GBs of cloud storage.

So I put all my music onto that and just use the widget to play music and then removed the 10-12 gbs of music I had put onto the device. Granted you'll need wifi to play it but I almost always have it available to me.

Total of 12 movies on it with numerous apps/games and I'm around 18gbs now.

going on a long trip soon so loading up on tv shows and movies. I also rip at higher qualities to make use of the xoom's excellent screen.

About the same for me. Instead of using Amazon cloud player I am hoping we hear about Google music at Google I/O before I make the jump to Amazon. I do use subsonic which pretty much does the same thing but is stored locally on my computer. I do doubt that I will use that much storage but I do have an extra 16gb waiting to be put in to my xoom. For whatever reason having that extra memory gives me security. If only we could get Netflix on this freaking device. The cloud is where the future is and the faster we get there the better. Especially with Lte will make it that much better to use cloud services as streaming anything will be the way to go.

Not hard to do when hour a music junkie like me and have just a hair away from a terabytes worth of mp3s. : )

interesting... why would anyone EVER need that much music with wireshark, you can listen to WHATEVER you want whenever you want. no need to store that much music on any device.

Not familiar w wireshark but I will check into it. There are multiple reasons why I have that much and why I have it stored the way it is.

I would say half the collection are full DJ sets, live band performances, etc. Lots of the files run well over an hour.

Another reason is because I swap w friends. If I meet someone knew and start hanging w them, I usually make a point to snag all there music. As a result, one of the biggest parts of maintaining a music collection of that size is getting rid of duplicate files. Might seem silly to go through the effort to some but its my hobby and I enjoy it. I like knowing I could hold the hard drive in my hand too and not just have it stored on some server in god knows where. Kinda like how some don't like ordering their gadgets online even if its cheaper. They like the feel of being able to walk in a store and take I off the shelves themselves.

I can also say that I have never known anyone with such diverse tastes in music as myself and I owe that to my collection.
