My Samsung Galaxy 7 edge heated up by itself, I was not charging or using it and it was so hot that I can't hold it. Suddenly it erased EVERYTHING that I can't stop or do anything about it. Waited till next morning to call Verizon, repeated myself for 5 times with no solution, the tech support can only asked if I smelled something burn and if it gets that hot again I should go to Verizon store right away...and referred me to Bestbuy where Samsung staff should have toll to dianose the problem. I went to Bestbuy and Samsung staff told me they can't do anything about it. So I wasted whole day talking to tech support they can't help and Samsung staff at Bestbuy can't do anything. Finally talked to samsung tech, who asked me to send the phone back, so they can see how to repair it...and what am I supposed to do without a phone??? He told me there's the standard procedure to take care of the issue... And, Verizon offered to send me an used one ....to their 15 years loyal customer. THIS IS BIG DISAPPOINTMENT WITH BOTH VERIZON AND SAMSUNG. I WILL LEAVE VERZION AND WON'T USE OR RECOMMAND SAMSUNG TO ANYONE.

Well, the Samsung taking the phone in would be an obvious step. How else would they take it apart to see the insides for a hardware problem? The guys at the stall probably aren't qualified to do that. Verizon is giving you a loaner during the time that the phone is being diagnosed. How would you think they should have responded anyway?

Would you do the same thing if this was your car under warranty? What exactly were you expecting from Samsung and Verizon that didn't meet your needs?
