Overall... how do you like the Revolution

The touch screen on revo isnt as polished as tbolt. its overly sensitive or just cant seem to do what i want it to do. Its not as responsive as the tbolt. Screen looks nice but youll see the flaw when you use the browser and scroll. Scrolling is a bit choppy . Also when you scroll, screen scrolled too far even if you only flinged it by a little. same issue as the lg voyager from back in the day.

ui is very smooth just like tbolt. love the netflix.

stock for stock.. revo avg 1900 on quadrant and 1700 on tbollt. but by running quadrant test at the same time. tbolt finishes the test before revo everytime. Revo keeps up with tbolt till it gets i the I/O test.that's where revo just couldn't keep up with tbolt. tbolt will finish the test when revo reaches the planet visual test

Screen is definately not nicer than the tbolt. Brighter .. yes .. nicer no. i loaded a high resolution picture on both phone, set both phone's brightness to full. Picture on Revo is brighter but the color looks washed out. Doesnt seem realistic as the picture is of the beach. once zoomed in by double tap. the picture still is clear on the tbolt while the revo looks blurry. I made sure to have the picture zoom in equal fashion so the pic is coming up at the same cropping image.

camera .. i havent gotten a chance to test.

So all in all .. i rather go with tbolt. i have both the tbolt and the revo. tbolt is personal and revo is.my work phone.

Just got my revo and love it. This is my first Android phone so I can't really compare it to others out there, but I love this phone. The screen is great, its fast and responsive. And other than the bloatware, I really don't have any issue with LG's ROM they have on here. The music/album/video widget is a little much, but to each their own.

Just waiting for some backup apps before I root and drop the bloatware.

I couldn't disagree more on the screen and your choice to go with the Tbolt. I found the screen on the Rev to be much nicer than the Tbolt side by side. Not only brighter, but crisper looking.

Some issues that you didn't mention in the Rev's favor are the camera operation, and battery life. The operation of the camera is much better on the Rev, for me, than the HTC Sense camera. The pictures are about the same to my eyes, but I find it easier to use the Rev's camera than the one on my Dinc.

Finally, we come to battery life, the Achille's Heel of the Tbolt. My first full day with my Rev, I got 14hrs out of the battery, using 4G all day long to surf, email, Twitter, Facebook, load about 30 apps and a few calls. A moderate to heavy usage day. The Tbolt just isn't going to get that kind of mileage on 4G. I've got 2 friends with Tbolts and they concur.

I respect your decision and you gotta go with what you think works best for you, but I still disagree. ;)

Oh no worries buddy. i have both phone. So ive been playing with it, just havent gotten around testing the camera function.

but i do agree bout tbolt's subpar battery life but a non issue for me as it last through out the day for me with moderate usage.

imo though ranking:
screen: droid charge tbolt revo
Ui: tie between revo and tbolt, charge
battery life: revo, tbolt.. havent played with droid charge long enough but im sure its better than tbolt and maybe revo.
smoothness of day to day operation: tbolt, tie between charge and revo

Ok, either I am high or the quality control with both Tbolt and Revo is a huge issue. I have had both phones at the same time and returned the Tbolt and kept Revo.

Screen: There's no possible way Tbol'ts screen is better than Revo's in any situation, not still images, not video, not in the sun, not in the bathroom without lights. You must have had a broken Revo and some super best specimen of Tbolt.

Battery: I don't know what you mean by moderate usage, again your Tbolt is one of the kind :)
Mine simply died in 6 hours of doing nothing on it and in 3.5-4 hours after talking on the phone for 20-30 minutes, reading a few emails and reading Google Reader for 10-15 minutes. Boom - dead in under 4 hours.

Smoothnes: Revo is a lot smoother than Tbolt, Tbolt has a heavy Sense that hiccupps occasionally and over engineered for some things. LG UI is light, purposeful, functional and NOT pretty, but it FLIES compared to Tbolt.

I will go on a record and state that there's absolutely nothing that Tbolt is better at/with/for than LG Revo. Nothing. However LG excells in several areas and beats Tbolt in Speed, Radio/Signal/Voice quality, Battery Life, Screen, Netflix, and LG's 5MP Camera is not beat by Tbolt's 8MP cam (which was expected).

Cheers...

I litterally tested many pictures on both phone doing the same type of test.

The screen on Tbolt is definately nicer than the Revo. Revo is brighter but definition and clarity goes to the bolt. i'm litterally sitting here right now with the same pictures on both phone fully zoomed in at max brightness settings, image cropped properly on both phone so both will show the same image. and the bolt provide clearer picture while revo is blurry.

i'd take pictures to show you but every time i take it with my camera, the screen of both phone wont show up properly to show you the difference.

Spoon, I was a happy tbolt user until after the update, and I just couldn't deal with the resets, and wasn't willing to wait on VZW.

I actually agree with you about the Revo's screen. It is brighter, but I don't think is responds as well to the touch. I also think the Tbolt is a little more fluid in its operation, while the Revo is a bit "jerky" if that makes sense?

However, the revo has an AMAZING radio, the GPS locks super fast, it doesn't randomly reboot, and the battery life is a bit better. The Tbolt has potential to be amazing, but it's just so buggy that I don't think its worth it.

so been using the revo more and more due to work. gotta call my customers and take their calls.

Both are stock phone, tbolt has more apps than revo too. both using the Go Launcher.

Touch response Tbolt wins.
GPS signal locks on revo much faster than bolt.. i dont mind this that much as when i have a prob locking in on gps .. i just run the gps test app and load navi and it locks instanly.

GPS on revo is definately nice but there is ways to make the tbolt to be just as good or even better via apps.

get the touch response down to the T ... that will require rooting. So for the average user .. tbolt is better. yea tbolt might have so issues but those issues can be fixed via apps. except the reboot that is going on right now. but supposedly its fix with the MR2 update. haven't had phone rebooted in a few days now (i'm on the MR1 update).

yea that MR1 update screwed up the phone bad.

I have had the Revo for a couple of weeks now and I have to say the screen is great, and the battery life is very good as well. I've watched Netflix on it and it works great on Wifi and 4G.

Jking3002, I have also noticed the lag recently in the UI. I'm getting touch response lag fairly often that sometimes can be fixed by a reboot and other times not. I notice it most in Tweetdeck but it occurs other times as well. I tried other Twitter apps to be sure it wasn't just the app.

At some point, I'll root and remove the bloat and see if that will fix the lag issues. But even with the lag, I love the phone.

Btw Spoon, you forgot to compare battery life. Revo kicks Tbolt on battery in my experience. YMMV.;)

The UI lag I think is just due to the lack of ram or processing power, I might try another launcher and see if it acts the same way.

I had touch lag really bad on a game the other day, what actually happened was another game was running in the background and I just did a force stop on it, and things went back to normal. Might be something for you to check if you are only having the issues inside of apps.

Thanks, that's two good ideas. I'll try another launcher as well, but I'll also pay closer attention to what might be running in the background.

I just switched to go launcher and the ui lag, especially when switching between screens is gone.

Had charge but couldnt resist netflix app screen on charge way better and sound but speed of rev much swifter

After more usage on both phones.

Battery life:
Revo is a better than Tbolt but not by much during usage. But god damn .. Revo slaps Tbolt silly when it is on idle mode. So revo is better on battery life but not much during usage, but it's during idle/sleep mode is where Revo shines.

Screen:
I still think Tbolt screen over all is better. Image comes out clear and nice with Tbolt, granted Revo's image comes out brighter giving it a more realistic image.Clarity on Tbolt is better.

UI ease of use:
Kinda a tie. The long press on home screen to add widget seems to be easier on Tbolt than Revo as the menu to add is standardize through other android devices while Revo changes the UI of the menu. App drawer Revo wins hands down for it's organization, but can easily be negated by a custom launcher .. ie. Go Launcher.

Touch response:
Tbolt wins hands down. This LG over fling / under fling thing is persistant since the LG voyager days, also found on LG envy touch as well. Trying to press end call on Revo is a chore as i have to press it 2 times or more to get it to respond or do a long press. Tbolt non issue.

GPS/Radio:
Revo GPS > Tbolt GPS .. but Revo GPS = Tbolt GPS w/ gps test app. So kinda of a wash if you willing to take 1 or 2 extra step on the Tbolt. Call quality and signal seems to be the same on both. Sitting on 2 bars at my house on both phone.

Camera:
Still havent fully tested this on Revo. But i do like Tbolt's camera so far.

What else am I missing??

Ooo .. I haven't had any reboot on my Tbolt lately within the last week and is still on MR1 update. I read HTC and VZW figured what caused it. So they pulled the MR2 update. Rumored to release 2.3 gingerbread later this month. But now i get more force close after MR1 update after the reboot issue was fix.

LG Revo .. seems bug free atm. No force close or reboot. Just the lag/unresponsive touch is the only issue right now.

Let me know if you all want to know anything else.

edit:
Speaker phone mode: Revo > Tbolt. Revo is way louder than Tbolt as Tbolt has the kick stand that muffles its loudness a little. Also the fact that Revo's speaker phone is towards the top of the phone on the back side unlike the Tbolt. So if an average person is holding the phone .. the speakerphone on Tbolt is getting muffled by the kickstand and your hand. while revo has no obstruction.

Had it just under a month now, absolutely love it, especially now that 4g just got turned on I'm my area about 30min ago!!! Hopefully its permanent and not just a test run. Getting 5.5Mb down and 2.6Mb up.
