Overall speed opening apps

Newbie question here.

Can anyone please let me know how fast Android is when opening apps? I'm trying to decide if Android is as speedy as the iphone.

How about switching between apps? any lag?

That all depends on what app you're opening. What apps you're switching from.


What phone you have, and what carrier you have.

They load as fast or faster than most apps on my Touch

Really depends on the app, not the phone/OS
