Overclock Bionic?

I'm also curious as to if there's been any advancement in overclocking and undervolting development. I'm more excited about being able to undervolt in order to get better battery life.

FINALLY! thanks!

maybe a stupid question, If 1.2gHZ is stock speed on Razr and we have the same processor why can't we oc higher than 1.2? I would assume Razr owners will be getting oc'd to 1.4-1.5gHZ eventually, no? So we should be able to also?

I'll bet dimes to dollars it makes no diff anyway.. Why do you need to overclock this phone? To showoff some slightly higher benchmark scores that nobody really cares about anyway? The phone performs great but... Meh whatever..

Lol I'm not trying to pick on you bud, just tired of seeing people rave about overclocking this and that on every forum and in the end they never have a good reason to go through all the trouble lol. Flashing an optimized, well made ROM is going to do a lot more for your performance than oc'ing.

In any case, I believe the answer to your question is the razr's processor is actually oc'd already, that's why the diff. I could be mistaken however but im pretty sure about it.

I know a good ROM is the best way to increase performance for os related functions, bit unless I'm mistaken (happens alot) oc should increase up/download times, make streaming data faster and smoother. Always what I thought the purpose of oc was anyway...

Oc'ing the processor should have little or really no effect at all on your data speeds. Data speed is going to be affected only by your antennas, coverage area, nearness to cell towers and whether your data .jar file is throttling you (part of theoryrom is that it includes an unthrottle script which edits this file to unthrottle your data speed).

how do I install a custom rom on my bionic? I tried downloading bootstrapper with no lock, then tried rom manager with no luck.
I need step by step help.
Thanks!!

The general response your going to get is "search", which it sounds like you have done none of since there are numerous threads on this subject. I was in your shoes not long ago, but I searched and read a lot, then asked specific questions.

This should give you a good starting point, but your still going to have to do a lot of reading.

Don't try to jump in head first or you could brick your phone. Research until you are confident you knwo what your doing.

True on OC'ing not making any difference. But you fan undervolt. Which means better battery life. That's the main reason to have it for these phones nowadays. Just sayin...
