Still on ICS
am I ok?
I thought the vzw gnex was set to 1ghz and the sprint was 1.2ghz?
where should I put it then? I just left the setting on what the app came as basically.
The next notch is at about 1.4ghz I'll be OK running that?
I'm not running setcpu Franco's app only goes to 1344mhz so I'll Max out the settings. Even at 1.2ghz and the new governed setting I was seeing a noticeable improvement. So this will be finethanks.for the help!
The higher your clock speed the faster your battery drains just thought I'd throw that out there
Nope it wont!
have the setting for the kernel for screen off max mhz set to 729mhz
you guys should really look into the franco kernel updater app. $3.07 out of my remaining nexus 7 Play credit was worth it.
I've owned the app since it was released![]()
Since the OMAP 4460 was underclocked from 1.5GHz to 1.2GHz from the factory to save battery I keep mine at 1.5. Looking at CPU Spy it seems very few functions require more than 729MHz. I streamed Netflix for a min just to get the high frequencies to show up. My question is does allowing a higher clockspeed still drain battery even if those frequencies are rarely used? I never go crazy (can go to 1.8GHz) but my phone is very stable and has "great" battery life. Just curious.
That's what I figured. My battery drain is much better than it was stock but that's because of the rom/kernel combo, of course. The Bionic, Razr/Maxx/GS 2 etc. have the 4430. We have the 4460
